Version 01.00.00 supports the Japanese language only. Version 002 and later also support English language versions of Windows.

The installation location is fixed to the system drive.

Q3. What should I do if the installer stops during installation? Top

First, confirm that the installer has actually stopped. We have received reports that installation requires 30 minutes or more. Check the hard disk access lamp or task manager to confirm computer activity.
We have received reports that the installer stops during installation in rare cases. In such a case, force exit the installer and restart it. Task Manager in Windows can be used to force exit the installer.
After restarting the installer, the check boxes of already installed components may be cleared. However, do not change the component check box settings.

Q4. I build models and programs on another computer. Is it OK to install only AD-VirtualConsole on the computer connected to the AD7011-EVA? Top

Always install the AD7011-EVA development environment before installing the AD-VirtualConsole. This is necessary because the AD-VirtualConsole requires some of the software components included in the AD7011-EVA development environment.

The Project Selection Screen:

Q1. How do I display the project selection screen after the AD7011-EVA starts? Top

Create a GUI screen in VCDesigner and then paste a system operation button (set the command to “Exit”) on the screen. If the system operation button is used when a project is starting on the AD7011-EVA, the project is exited and the project selection screen appears.

Start the desired project from VCDesigner. When the AD7011-EVA is started, the project last started in VCDesigner automatically starts.

You can confirm in detail whether programs made with eclipse run as expected on the AD7011-EVA. Programs made with eclipse can be debugged via a telnet connection over Ethernet. Program operations can be checked by running program code line by line or by running programs up to a specified break point in the code.

Saving Data:

Q1. Can data be saved on the AD7011-EVA? Top

With MATLAB/Simulink models, data can be saved using the DataStore and BlockDataStore blocks of the A&D AD-XPRTS System Blockset library.
With C language programming, there are sample programs on the DVD that use functions for data saving from version 002.
In all cases, the file destination is set using AD-VirtualConsole.

Q2. Can SD cards and USB memory be used to save data on the AD7011-EVA? Top

The microSD card on the AD7011 cannot store large amounts of data because it contains realtime modules, AD-VirtualConsole GUI screen files, applications, and other data.
However, large amounts of data can be stored using SD cards and USB memory.
The maximum capacity of cards and memory is determined by its file system format. If storage media is formatted as FAT32, data can be read and written on both the AD7011-EVA and a personal computer.
The reading and writing speed are determined by the type of SD card or USB memory used.

The watchdog function is performed by the CPLD of the AD7011.The block diagram of the AD7011-EVA in the catalog shows mainly the connection of the AD7011 and AD7011-EVA, and therefore the watchdog function is not listed. However, the 2-pin header of the J45 or the 19th pin of 96-pin connector can be used.

CSPI stands for Configurable Serial Peripheral Interface. This synchronous serial communication that can have its settings changed by a program.
On the AD7011-EVA, it is used for connections to AD (4 channel), DA (4 channel), and ZigBee (optional).
One feature of the CSPI is that it can be directly controlled from the i.MX31 CPU.

Q2. What is the difference between the CSPI AD/DA and expansion bus AD/DA? Top

The CSPI AD/DA has a slow bus speed and cannot guarantee real-time performance for software.
